a five and a six and a...

Woah guys. Way behind. Not gonna lie - keeping up with life, a little one and everything in between has definitely kept us super busy the last 6-8 weeks! We have loved the brief fall we got and are definitely now falling full force into winter as we get into the holiday season! So let's unpack it a bit shall we?
Let's start with OCTOBER! Month 5!

Cooper turned 5 months old and just kept amazing us with his cuteness!
We had so much fun with all the fun fall activities here in Denver (and to actually have fall weather was AMAZING!!)

He is seriously our favorite and cutest grumpy pumpkin!

He got his first halloween costume (cutest chubby penguin on the block!) and mom wore a matching hat!
We went across the grass to our next door neighbors for "trick or treating"/get mom a tootsie roll. It was a resounding success!

We also went to the pumpkin patch and had a great time with our friends Bobbi and her little boy Bryce (who we have deemed just must be one of Coop's BFFs!)

Well that was pretty much it for October...on to

November!

To start November we got our first snow of the year!
Most people that have lived here a while were not super thrilled but Hannah pretty much thought it was the best thing ever.
We are learning a lot about "bundling" for the Coopster.
Here he is in his snow cover for his carseat

Outside of Hannah's work during the first snow!
Here we are in our yard and "green space" between the homes in our little courtyard the morning after the first snow. Cooper was clearly thrilled 😆
I just love how our little house looks just like a little gingerbread house to me! I can't wait to have it all dressed up for Christmas on the outside!

Cooper got this great reversible patagonia jacket from his Uncle T and Aunt Meg before they left for their big trip to Patagonia that they are on right now (check out this link for more info on their amazing trip!) This has been an awesome jacket and he literally wears it almost everyday!
For real (this is the other side) 😀😎😍

Otherwise we have been playing with friends in the neighborhood...

Mom is loving her new neighborhood running trails and the beautiful fall and winter scenery changes. Hannah has to be running more because...

She and her sister Emily both got in for this year's Lululemon half marathon in Vancouver!
We have been trying to get into this run for like 4 years now and are so pumped to get to do it together!

We have otherwise been learning lots of new tricks and doing lots of new things with Cooper!
He is seriously growing so fast! We can't believe how fast time is flying with him!

He can fly and loves a good piggy back

He is sitting up unassisted for longer periods of time all the time!

He got his first set of school pictures!

Hannah FINALLY pretty much finished his nursery!

And then we got to Thanksgiving! We had a lovely Thanksgiving with friends here in town since both Alex and I had to work. It was a definite new thing to do the friends giving thing but we are so grateful for our growing community here and had a great holiday (although we can't wait to have family up for Christmas!)

In the theme of Thanksgiving - Cooper also started on solids!
Whew what a whole new messy world that is and we are loving it!
Cooper is a great eater and does all his veggies and fruits so well!
Meats are a little harder.

Just as an aside...as an infant feeding person...we are doing a (very) modified version of baby led weaning. We are using purees but he also gets to taste and eat what we eat (when it's appropriate texture-wise) and he is learning to drink water from an open cup and straw.
I think it is REALLY important that Cooper be exposed to lots of tastes and textures as he is ready and he is doing great so far!

And although we have no teeth peeking through yet we DEFINITELY are teething!

He is also learning how to ride in the grocery cart like a big boy and was definitely eyeing Mom's Starbucks!

Hannah is getting the hang of this baking at altitude thing slowly but surely because where there is cold...there must be cornbread.

Cooper had his 6 month well check and his last set of infant shots and did great!
At 6 months Cooper...
Is now a little over 14 lbs and growing!
He still takes 3-4 6-7oz bottles a day along with 2-3 "snacks/meals" of solids throughout the day
He takes 3-4 naps ranging anywhere from 30 mins to an hour an a half.
Sleeps through the night in his crib from 7:00pm to about 6:15-6:30am almost every night (!!)
He definitely has started to have favorites when it comes to people, loves to people watch, loves to be held by anyone, loves to stand up and wants to be up and looking around always (he wants to be mobile SO bad but just can't get it started!).
He has started laughing and blowing raspberries and is babbling up a storm - especially in the morning!
He has huge smiles for everyone and makes friends wherever he goes!

Coop -
We sure do love you sweet boy! Every day we are thankful for having you in it! You make our lives brighter,  our marriage stronger, and our hearts bigger with every smile and snuggle you give!
You are getting so big we just can't handle it some days!
We can't wait to see where you go from here and love how we see you growing into just a precious little boy with a priceless, hilarious, kind hearted personality already!
You are our live's greatest adventure.
All our love forever,
Mom and Dad

And now on to getting ready for Christmas!
Hannah LOVES all things Christmas so as soon as the turkey was done we were all about Christmas!
Pictures of the house once it is all done will definitely follow!

Cooper got his first Santa pics and did great! No tears whatsoever!

So stay warm out there everybody!
We will definitely update again after Christmas and New Years!
Hope everyone has a very safe and blessed holiday season remembering the glorious and generous gift the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in each moment!
May each moment be magic and filled with family, love and warm snuggles!
We will surely be snuggling this little bundled babe a ton!

Merry Christmas everyone!

All our love,
Hannah and Alex
(and Cooper too!)

It feels like (a 4 month) home to me...

Hello World!

So we have gotten back from the wedding, gotten more settled and have survived the 4 month sleep regression to continue to have our happy boy back!
We have had some more adventures and are gearing up for our first fall here in Denver!
So here's what we have been up to the last few weeks!

Football season (and fall) is officially upon us...

 (Go Bears Go)
(Go Pokes Too)

I finally baked something at altitude that doesn't taste like rubber and actually rose!

We love our neighborhood farmer's market and have had some great family fun each Sunday morning!

The definite highlight of this month was heading back to Houston for a fast and furious weekend of family, friends and fun!

Cooper did AMAZING on his first flight (and Hannah can officially navigate the airport, luggage and baby in tow independently for the win!)

Cooper got to meet his future BFF Barret (Hannah's bestie from 2nd grade has a new sweet little one! I feel like they are already plotting against us! Can't wait for all the fun to be had!)

He also go to meet his sweet cousin Kennedy, Uncle Brent and get some serious Auntie Em and Mumzy snuggles with some of the most precious moments ever recorded caught on film!
Kennedy was so sweet and such a big helper with Cooper! She is going to be the best big sister!

Cooper got his first adjustment from Uncle Brent! Thanks Uncle B!

We got to celebrate our precious cousin Bethany and her baby girl coming in November (the whole reason we were down there!). It was such a blast and we can't wait for precious baby girl Martinez to make her appearance! Beth, Emily and Hannah lived together in college at Baylor and have always been really close so this was such a special celebration! We love you B!

Cooper got to meet so much of his Texas family including his great grandmother (Memaw!) at the shower too which was so sweet!

That Sunday our precious sunday school class (our Three Strands family!) also got everyone together for lunch! I am terrible and got literally NO pictures save for one of this sweet gathering but we were so thankful for it and had such a wonderful time getting to put a hug around each of our sweet friends that we miss so much and have them meet Cooper!

Then is was back to Denver (which is still strange to us to fly in to Denver and that be coming home but it's definitely feeling more like home each day)
It's definitely fall here! The weather is gorgeous and we have loved getting to experience this season! We have been doing some adventuring around with our latest outing to Estes Park to see the leaves change, hike around, and (unexpectedly) encounter some pretty big Elk friends!

Then finally our little guy turned FOUR MONTHS OLD!
Holy Smokes we are a third of the way to one!
At four months, Cooper is...

Almost 13 lbs and got his 4 month immunizations (like a champ!)

Loves to play on his playmat and is DEFINITELY a more active kiddo everyday. He loves "o-ball" toys and crunchy plush toys and sometimes even falls asleep still playing!

Is rolling around like a roly- poly and

Is "talking" up a storm

He takes 6 oz of formula every 4 hours

Officially is a belly sleeper

and (with the exception of the 4 month sleep regression which I think we have survived...), he loves to read his bedtime stories (especially with Dad!), goes down around 7-8 pm, wakes around midnight for a bottle then sleeps until 6-7 am! Winning!

And now it is starting to turn colder so we are learning about bundling! Cooper is so cute in all his little sweaters and bundles and got his first snow suit this week (no it is not snowing...we are just getting prepared!)

Cooper J,
You have given us a bit of a run for our money this month little one! Sleep regressions are real and you let us know about it big time! You did such a great job on your first airplane ride and we are so proud of you! You show us more of your precious personality emerging each day and we love it! You are so happy, love to smile at everyone and steal the heart of anyone that gets to love on you! You are already getting so big - we can't believe it! You are such a blessing every day and we love getting to adventure with you little one! You are loved more than words could possibly express!
Love,
Mom and Dad

Welp, that's about it from our end of the world for now.
Stay tuned for our next update (probably with Halloween costumes!)
Happy Fall Ya'll!

Love,
Hannah and Alex
